Assignment 9 - Music Interpretation

For the Music Interpretation project we had to
make two videos that showed how good and
bad music makes you feel.

For the Good edit I experimented with filming
and made a helmet cam so the viewer would
be able to see through my eyes as I rode my bike.

For the Bad edit I wanted it to be short and
simple. In the end it turned out to be one of
my favorite videos I have filmed and edited.

For the Typographic Imagery project I chose the movie

Jaws for this assignment because simply it was one of

the best movie series I seen when I was growing up.

This Image is entirely made up of letters that was hard

but, in the end turned out to be a very unique piece.

For the Design Background project I was not

allowed to use ink or the computer. I decided to

use cereal to express my mind that never stops

thinking. The cereal symbolize my thoughts, and

the Lego man is me using art as my lifeline.

While I was browsing through the site I stumbled upon

their food art page and I was instantly inspired.

For the Muse project I chose to create something BMX

related because a "muse" is something that represents

you or something you feel strongly about. So I decided

to re-create the surface of a ramp. I wanted this piece

to represent the beauty of a wooden ramp because it

is our paradise to us riders involved in BMX.

The found art section of "Drawn" is what

inspired me with the Muse art piece.

For the Magazine Analysis project I chose to use XXL

I wanted to use this magazine because of the negative way

it depicted black people and tries to disguise it as glamor.

Magazines like these are the reason Hip-Hop and our black

youth are dying because they want to be a rich and famous

without education. It is sad that companies like XXL still exist...

Inspiration - Music Artist: DMX

This song means the world to me and got me through alot of
rough times in my life. This is true Hip-Hop no gimmicks,
no flashy chains, no naked woman just real life. I hope
Hip-Hop can find the way back because our society needs it.

For the Invention Project my inspiration was driven

by my hobby that is BMX. I came up with the idea of

the stem with a headlight because of the lack of visibility

when you are riding in the dark.

This website began as a small BMX blog spot personally

run by the rider known as Adam22. In this blog spot you

could find web videos and news on current events in

the biking community. Now it has become a staple in BMX

you can find anything and everything that evolves BMX.

Random Inspiration - Stumble Upon

I was told from a friend about this site that he found while
he was bored surfing the net until he fell upon this website.
It is a must see because it relates to anyone who does or
enjoys anything creative. Also it is a great way to gain
inspiration for those hard days when you cant think.

For the Dream Interpretation I wanted to make a image

that expressed the emotions I felt when I first spoke to my

father after many years of not seeing him. I also decided

to incorporate my poetry in this sparatic art piece.

For the Metaphorical Imagery Project I wanted to create an image

that reflected my views on money and the idea of our constant

need for more. Money is like ice cream is good when you have it

until it is gone. In our society today money seems to make the

world go around and hopefully one day it will no longer be this way.

Inspiration - Dr. Grigori

This is unbelievable Dr.Grigori turns down a million dollar

prize after solving a sophisticated math problem.

His reason for deny the award money was that he does

not want to be singled out from others in his profession.

I have been listening to this artist alot lately his music is
very unique and his words seem like they are painting
pictures in my mind when I am listening to his music.

For the Portrait Project I first started by completing a multiple
intelligence questionnaire. After reviewing my scores I had linguistic
as my top score.The concept of my portrait was collage inspired and
I also used sign language to express my linguistic skills. The picture
of myself is a metaphor relating to me being bound by words.
